Fever Superstar Caitlin Clark Named 2025 WNBA All-Star Captain

The Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark has been named the 2025 WNBA All-Star captain. This would be her second consecutive selection, and Indianapolis will host the 2025 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game on July 19. In the upcoming game, Clark will draft her team alongside Minnesota Lynx’s Napheesa Collier on July 8.

Clark, 23, received 1.2 million All-Star votes this season, which is more than the top 30 vote getters from the 2023 All Star Game combined at 1.17 million. For the unversed, the all-star vote is based on a combination of fan, player, and media votes. Notably, Clark, who was named the Rookie of the Year in 2024, has been averaging 18.2 points, 8.9 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game.

She has appeared in nine games so far this season, with her most recent appearance coming on June 24, where she scored only six points in 31 minutes of play. Her best gameplay came on June 14, when she posted 32 points against the New York Liberty.

What is the Update on Caitlin Clark’s Injury?

Caitlin Clark missed the last two Indiana Fever games, including the hard-fought 94-86 win over the Dallas Wings on Friday due to her groin injury. Notably, the Fever are gearing up for their Commissioner’s Cup championship on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Lynx. Clark has already missed seven games this season. The 23-year-old played more than two weeks after sustaining a left quad injury during their clash against the New York Liberty, and missed five games in that stretch.

However, according to WNBA insider Scott Agness, Clark participated in a team routine and afternoon practice with timed shooting. She was wearing tights on both legs. The update hinted that the former Iowa star is about to make her comeback and fans might see her lacing up for the team sometime soon.
