Ekaterina Alexandrova is certainly one of the WTA’s silent assassins. She won the Linz Open trophy in February, reached finals in Monterrey and Seoul, and also finished as a semifinalist in four other events. The 30-year-old has been rewarded for her fearless ball striking with a world ranking of No. 10 at the moment. Alexandrova is yet to drop a set this week – her straight set wins over Yuan, Kessler and Shnaider have improved the Russian’s win-loss record to 46-22 for the ongoing campaign.
