Juventus Striker Dusan Vlahovic has had a rough time with injuries over the past few seasons. Failing to be available consistently and live up to the expectations, Juventus is speculated to be wanting to terminate Vlahovic’s contract in 2025.

Vlahovic who joined Juventus from Fiorentina in January 2022 for a base transfer fee of €70 million (£58.3 million), with an additional €11.6 million in solidarity contributions.

Vlahovic’s Injury History and Its Impact on His Juventus Exit Talks

Vlahovic has had a history of recurring hamstring injuries, particularly noted in the 2022-23 season, which limited his game time. Coming back from recovery, he also exited a game against Parma in 2024 due to a right thigh issue.

The 2024-25 season has seen Vlahovic plagued by recurring muscular issues, particularly thigh-related problems, which have disrupted his consistency and availability. From picking up an injury in the International break in November 2024 to the muscle issue in April 2025, Vlahovic has missed out on some major action this season.

Missing out on the significant games, Vlahovic’s £24 million per annum salary has started to become an issue. Juventus proposed a new contract with a significant pay cut (aiming to halve his salary or reduce it to €9-10 million net per year), but Vlahovic and his representatives rejected these terms.

What’s Next for Dusan Vlahovic After Juventus Departure?

Despite these setbacks, sources note his “consistent fitness record” overall, suggesting periods of reliability interspersed with injury concerns. Clubs from the Premier League like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be keen on signing the striker as a free agent.

Recent reports suggest he is particularly hopeful Manchester United will make a move. He could be willing to accept a pay cut from his current £315,000 per week (£12 million net per season) to around £200,000 per week to facilitate a transfer to Old Trafford.

Tottenham which will have Champions League football to offer might hold a slight edge in the negotiations. Vlahovic’s refusal to leave or accept a pay cut has led to a standoff, with Juventus considering a €24 million mutual termination to avoid losing him for free in 2026.
