Cleveland Cavaliers did not fare well in the game 4 of the playoffs semi-finals series against Indiana Pacers. Their star player, Donovan Mitchell also missed a major part of the game due to an injury. This has added further problems for an already struggling Cleveland Cavaliers side.

What Happened to Donovan Mitchell?

The 28-year-old was not comfortable in the action during the last minutes of the first half. Even during the half-time break, Mitchell was seen walking slowly, catching his ankle from the left side. This was not a good sign for the team, who were struggling to make their way into the game.

Donovan Mitchell as expected did not come back for the remainder of the game. The Cavaliers lacked the offensive edge that Spida brings, and the Indiana Pacers took advantage of that. Though they maintained their offensive edge, but the Cavaliers stormed the second half with more scoring opportunities.

Donovan Mitchell, whose performance in the first half scoring was 12 points with an accuracy of 3-11 from the field. Ty Jerome replaced Spida for the rest of the game, but the Indiana Pacers were too good for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Their first half lead proved too distant for the visitors.

What is Donovan Mitchell Injury Update?

The ankle injury that Donovan Mitchell sustained during the game 4 is proved to be serious according to the reports. Cleveland Cavaliers are already trailing the series by 3-1 against the Pacers. Coach Kenny Atkinson in the post match conference suggested that Mitchell will undergo an MRI on Monday and the team will await the results before giving him an injury designation for Game 5.

With Donovan Mitchell’s ankle injury, the Cavaliers have further been dealt with a major blow. The side has been hit with multiple injuries in the past games and have always had to adjust their lineups and game plans accordingly. It remains to be seen how the Cavaliers cope with the injury of their star player.
