Devils Signs Xavier Parent to Entry-Level Deal

New Jersey adds promising forward Xavier Parent on a two-year entry-level contract, securing his NHL future after an impressive AHL season.

The New Jersey Devils have locked in a rising talent, signing forward Xavier Parent to an entry-level contract for the 2025-26 season.

Parent, who turns 24 this month, has been part of the Devils’ system for three years, splitting time between AHL Utica and ECHL Adirondack. After missing the start of this season due to injury, he’s bounced back with a solid performance—racking up 11 goals, 15 assists, and 29 points in 44 games.

At 5’8”, Parent may not be the biggest player on the ice, but he makes up for it with his relentless energy and versatility. Primarily a left winger, he also has experience at center. His standout junior career in the QMJHL peaked in 2021-22 when he notched an impressive 106 points for the Sherbrooke Phoenix.

Despite being overlooked in multiple NHL drafts, Parent fought his way into pro hockey, signing with AHL Utica after juniors. Over three seasons, he’s registered 77 points in 129 AHL games, along with a strong ECHL stint in 2022-23.

Now, with an NHL contract in hand, Parent is one step closer to the big league. He’ll be eligible for call-ups next season, as the Devils continue shaping their roster with 32 of their 50 contract slots filled for 2025-26.
