Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder Game 6 Lineups, Sneak Peek

The Thunder holds the cards

The Nuggets squandered a golden chance at the series lead. They were better than the Thunder for the first three quarters and entered with an 8-point lead in the fourth quarter. But they got cold from both ends at the worst time possible.

They allowed Thunder’s Lue Dort to knock down a pair of threes before the midway point, which reduced their lead to 2. Then, different players stepped up to contribute on the offensive end for the Thunder. The biggest shot came with 47 seconds left when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander nailed a three to extend the Thunder’s lead to 6. That was the game.

Denver wasted a herculean 44-point effort by Nikola Jokic on an outstanding 17/25 shooting. Jamal Murray had 28 points but shot an abysmal 3/13 from the three-point line. Michael Porter Jr. had yet another off-game with just two points. The bench was ineffective as Russell Westbrook shot 1/7. MPJ, Christian Braun, and Aaron Gordon combined for 3/18 shooting from long range, another disappointing outing for the trio.

For the Thunder, SGA had a signature 31-point night. Meanwhile, the rest of the starters brought tremendous balance in the 12-15 points range. Alex Caruso made 3/6 triples off the bench en route to a 13-point performance, thus, the Thunder bench once again outperformed the Nuggets’ bench. Now it has put the Thunder on the door to the West Finals.

Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder Total Over/Under Prediction- NBA Best Bets

The Thunder have scored 110+ in three of the five games. They have done it at a higher frequency than the Thunder. Overall, three straight games in the series have hit the “Under” mark. Both teams have seen several dry stretches, but Denver will rue that a single quarter’s poor performance in Game 5 brought their scoring tally below 110.

Overall, the series’ scoring has gone down significantly as the stakes grow higher with each game. The bookmakers have now reduced the identical odds for Over/Under to around 217, a considerable dip from the 222 mark in the last game. I will still opt for “Over” despite being proven during the last game.

Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder Player Props Predictions- NBA Betting Picks

Jamal Murray to score over 21.5 points: Murray has been aggressive on the offensive end throughout the series. He is averaging 21.4 PPG for the series, but has gone “Under” in three of the five games. I believe he will go “over” here.

Isaiah Hartenstein to grab over 9.5 rebounds: Hartenstein has had a field day on the boards throughout the series. He is averaging 9.6 RPG, clearing the “over” mark on three out of five occasions. I expect him to make it four times here.

Russell Westbrook to score over 9.5 points: As happens often, Westbrook has entered the ice-cold territory. After exceeding the projected points in five straight games, he has gone “under” for three straight games. Surely, this has to be a bounce-back game for Brodie!

Main pick: Points: Russell Westbrook O 9.5 for -105 at BetMGM

Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder Game 6 Prediction- NBA Betting Lines

The Nuggets must rue their last quarter outing in Game 5. They have now entered the must-win scenario. The veteran unit has been through thick and thin together, but MPJ’s woes are now reflecting the result. The team needs at least one among Braun, Westbrook, or MPJ to pick up the slack, or they may have to pack their bags after this match.

As for the Thunder, they haven’t played their best ball, but their depth and defensive chops have kept them ahead. At any rate, I expect the Nuggets to force a Game 7.

Bettling Lines:

  • Total: 217.5. O:-110. U: -110 (BetMGM)
  • Spread: Thunder -4.5: -110. +4.5: Nuggets: -110 (BetMGM)
  • Player Props: Aaron Gordon: 16.5 Points. O: -120. U: -110 (BetMGM)
