Basavareddy is slowly but surely making a name for himself in the American tennis fraternity. The 20-year-old from Newport has Indian roots, and turned pro in 2024. Having broken into the Top-100 earlier this year, Basavareddy is currently ranked No. 109 in the ATP Rankings. After making his main draw debut at three out of the four majors in 2025, the youngster has put up numbers of 6-12 so far. He came through qualifying, and pulled off a magnificent comeback vs Cilic in Round-1 here in Hangzhou.
