Daniil Medvedev vs. Jaume Munar Head-to-Head, Preview, Prediction, and Betting Odds for ATP Paris Masters 2025 Round 1

Rudra Dubey

Medvedev begins Paris Masters campaign against rising Spaniard Munar in opener

The 11th seed, Daniil Medvedev, is set to open his Paris Masters 2025 campaign against Jaume Munar in the first round. The Russian has endured a challenging season overall but recently found redemption by clinching his first title since Rome 2023 in Almaty, defeating Corentin Moutet in three sets. That win came after a string of six finals appearances between the two events, highlighting his determination, even though inconsistent.

Other highlights include quarterfinal runs in Doha, Dubai, Madrid, Libema, and Washington, as well as semifinals in Beijing, where he beat Alexander Zverev before retiring against Ethan Quinn Tien due to cramps. He also made the last four in Marseille and Indian Wells. Statistically, Medvedev remains elite with 515 aces, 76% first-serve points won, 33% on return, and a 37% break point conversion rate from 528 opportunities.

Munar, meanwhile, is enjoying a breakthrough season, climbing to a career-high world No. 36. The Spaniard has delivered career-high Grand Slam results (barring Melbourne) but also produced deep runs on tour. Most recently, he reached the Basel semifinals, where he fell to Joao Fonseca after impressive wins over Ben Shelton and Felix Auger-Aliassime. Earlier, he made the semifinals in Dallas, the quarterfinals in Winston-Salem, and several fourth-round runs across ATP events. Stat-wise, Munar has struck 228 aces, won 72% of first-serve points, 31% on return, and converted 41% of 419 break-point opportunities.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
