Dallas Wings vs Atlanta Dream Lineups, Sneak Peek

Dallas Wings: They are playing better, but not good enough

The Dallas Wings enter the match after losing 88-91 against the Washington Mystics despite a 27-point outing by Arike Ogunbowale. The Wings had another tough shooting night, making just 37.5% of their shots, while allowing 45.1% FG.

They made one more three-pointer, but the Mystics made one more field goal and two more free throws. At any rate, the toss broke a rare two-game winning streak as the Wings missed a golden chance to get out of the bottom-three bracket.

The Wings have played well since the return of Paige Bueckers, who has given the team wings on the offensive end. However, their defense has been in tatters while Ogunbowale and especially NaLyssa Smith have been underwhelming. The Wings can still turn it around, but the window is getting shorter.

Atlanta Dream: The trio of Gray, Howard, and Jones is killin’ it

The Dream enters the game after another explosive 93-80 win over the Chicago Sky. Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard had another blazing shooting night, nailing 9 threes. Brionna Jones had a superb 13-point, 11-rebound double-double.

Meanwhile, Naz Hillmon had a solid 12-point performance off the bench. Thus, it was a well-rounded effort as the Dream made 16 of their 33 attempts from the three-point line. The Dream has now won two in a row and five of their last six games.

The Dream makes the league-best 10.6 three-pointers thanks to their dynamic backcourt. They clinch the second-most rebounds (36.2 RPG) thanks to Jones’ contributions. The Dream has a terrific balance but needs more out of Britney Griner.

Dream Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Jordin Canada | SG: Rhyne Howard | SG/SF: Allisha Gray | PF/C: Brittney Griner | C: Brionna Jones

Key bench players: PF: Naz Hillmon, PF: Nia Coffey, SG: Te-Hina Papao

Injuries/Updates: Nothing significant to report

Wings Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Paige Bueckers | PG: Arike Ogunbowale | SG: Aziaha James | PF: Myisha Hines-Allen | PF/C: NaLyssa Smith

Key bench players: SG: Kaila Charles, SG: JJ Quinerly, C: Li Yueru

Injuries/Updates: Teaira McCowan, Tyasha Harris, Luisa Geiseldor, Maddy Seigrist, and DiJonai Carrington are likely to be OUT.

Dallas Wings vs Atlanta Dream Total Over/Under Prediction- WNBA Best Bets

The Dream has become a scoring machine, tallying 88 or more points in four of the five games. Meanwhile, their defense is more than capable of shutting down opponents below the 80-mark, too.

On the other hand, the Wings have also scored 80+ consistently, especially since the return of Bueckers. A high scorer is on the cards considering the loaded backcourt play.

Total: Over 166.5 for -105 at BetMGM

Dallas Wings vs Atlanta Dream Player Props Predictions- WNBA Betting Picks

Rhyne Howard O 3.5 three-pointers: Howard let ‘em three-pointers fly without any second-guesses. She is attempting a mind-boggling 10.1 triples per game, converting 3.1. Thus, she is likely to go past the 3.5 mark even on off-night at times.

Paige Bueckers O 5.5 assists: Bueckers is averaging 5 APG over the last five games, dishing 7 in each of the last two games. I expect her to figure in the 5-7 range here.

Allisha Gray O 4.5 rebounds: Gray is a multi-faceted player who can also become a strong rebounding option. She has averaged 5.1 RPG this season and I believe she will be in the 5-7 range here.

Main pick: Points: Rhyne Howard Over 3.5 three-pointers at BetMGM

Dallas Wings vs Atlanta Dream Spread Prediction

The Dream will be the overwhelming favorite here. It’s not like they have a loaded cast, but the backcourt of Gray-Howard knows when to rise on both ends of the floor.

On the other hand, the Wings have squandered many opportunities to improve their record and find themselves in an insecure place. Overall, I favor Atlanta to get the job done here and cover the spread, too.

I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
