The Dallas Wings are struggling to find rhythm with only a handful of games left before the playoffs. Since the start of the season, the Dallas Wings haven’t looked like a team that could make a deep post season run.

They struck gold by drafting Paige Bueckers with their prized lottery pick this season. However, their rebuilding phase has just begun. There is still time left for the young side to take off, and patience with the project is important.

Talking about the present, the Dallas Wings sit at the 11th position in the table with an 8-21 record. They have won just one game in their last five outings. Surprisingly, their only recent win came against the defending champions, New York Liberty.

Wings’ Playoff Chances Shrinking Each Game

ESPN’s Basketball Power Index has placed Wings’ playoffs probability at just 0.9 percent. The Dallas Wings have 15 games left to reignite their season. However, out of those 15, 8 games are against the top-six teams, which further complicates their comeback story.

To surpass the Las Vegas Aces for the eighth playoff spot, the Wings must win at least seven games. That means they will have to have a .438 win percentage, well above their .276 pace so far.

Though nothing is impossible, the Dallas Wings will have to move mountains to get a playoffs spot in the upcoming weeks. The DeJonai Carrington trade has further weakened the roster, which is already facing both offensive and defensive vulnerabilities.

The Dallas Wings’ front office must urgently add a reliable perimeter stopper or consistent floor spacer. Tiffany Hayes, Marina Mabrey, Aaliyah Edwards are all available with multiple teams circling around them. Reports suggest Dallas may target a low-cost stretch four or 3-and-D guard to help lighten the offensive burden on Paige Bueckers.
