The Mavericks come into this game after a 15-point loss against the Milwaukee Bucks, despite a 31-point outing by Kyrie Irving. They have lost three of their last four games, which has cut into their 3-game winning streak. Irving has been the most consistent shot-creator, and the team really needs the services of AD, who has played just one game in the Mavs jersey thus far. Apart from that, the team is playing without a viable center in the absence of Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford.

DeMar DeRozan to score at least 24 points: The mid-range phenom has scored 21 or fewer points in four of the last five games. However, I expect him to get in the 24-27 points range here.

Jona Valanciunas to score at least 13 points(If Sabonis remains out): If Sabonis is ruled out for the game, JV can be in for a decent scoring night. He has managed 15 points in two straight games. I expect him to be in the 13-16 points range if the Kings’ all-around maestro is absent.

It is tough to judge who is the favorite, especially considering Sabonis’ unclear status for the game. If the Kings center is healthy, then his size can be crucial in producing a decisive advantage in the middle. Apart from that, the Kings are blessed with more shot-creators than the Mavs, however, they know Irving’s isolation skills and Thompson’s long-range chops will be a cause of concern. If Sabonis plays, I give the Kings a 62% chance of winning, if he doesn’t, then I give them a 52% chance of winning.
