Dallas Mavericks vs Miami Heat Preview

The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a 128-129 loss against the Sacramento Kings in their last match. Kyrie Irving top-scored with 30 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals. Klay Thompson scored 19 points. Max Christie, coming off the bench, scored over 10 points for the third straight game. Center Daniel Gafford left the court early in the second quarter due to a right knee sprain and will be out for two weeks. O.M. Prosper stepped up, scoring 20 points, while Spencer Dinwiddie also scored 20 points. The Mavericks have now lost all their centers for the next couple of weeks due to injuries. O.M. Prosper is expected to start at center against the Heat, and he will have to play a large number of minutes as the Mavericks lack backup centers at this point, which certainly weakens their rim protection.

The Miami Heat enter this contest on the back of a low-scoring 85-103 loss against the Boston Celtics. The Heat have had a horrid time recently since Jimmy Butler’s departure to the Golden State Warriors. Andrew Wiggins, in his first game for the Heat, scored 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Bam Adebayo scored 22 points and 12 rebounds. Alec Burks, who usually plays off the bench, started the game against the Celtics and scored 13 points. Terry Rozier, after scoring 20 points against the Nets, couldn’t have an efficient night against the Celtics, where he was restricted to 9 points. The Heat were restricted to under 90 points in their last two games. Their main offensive scorer, Tyler Herro, is also listed as questionable against the Mavericks.

Dallas Mavericks vs Miami Heat – Final Predictions

This is the second meeting between the Mavericks and the Heat this season. While the Heat won the earlier fixture 123-118, the Mavericks have had the upper hand against the Heat, winning three of their last five games against them. Considering recent form, the Mavericks are offensively strong, led by Kyrie Irving, and defensively they have been better of late. This game will likely be decided by the offensive dominance of both teams, which the Heat clearly lacks. Therefore, we are backing the Dallas Mavericks to win this contest.
