Cristiano Ronaldo Celebrates Son’s International Debut with Portugal U15

Cristiano Jr. followed in the footsteps of his legendary father who himself, represented Portugal U15s nine times back in 2001.

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., the eldest son of footballing icon Cristiano Ronaldo, marked a major milestone in his budding career by making his debut for Portugal Under-15s during a 4-1 win over Japan on Tuesday. The 14-year-old forward came on dor Portugal in the 54th minute of the Vlatko Markovic Tournament match in Croatia.

The youngster received praise and support from his legendary father after his debut.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner expressed his joy on Instagram and X as he wrote, “Congratulations on your debut for @selecaoportugal, son. Very proud of you!” It was a heartfelt moment as Cristiano Jr. began his own journey in international football, with his grandmother, Dolores Aveiro, watching on proudly from the stands.

Cristiano Jr. followed in the footsteps of his legendary father who himself, represented Portugal U15s nine times back in 2001. Portugal were already in control of the match when Ronaldo Jr. entered the field, thanks to a hat-trick from Braga youngster Rafael Cabral. The win marked a solid start for Portugal in the youth tournament, with upcoming fixtures against Greece and England scheduled for later this week.

CR7’s former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema also showed support for Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. on Instagram as he wrote on his Instagram story, “U15 Football is so good, go on Cristiano Jr.

Interestingly, scouts from several major European clubs including Manchester United were in attendance. Cristiano Jr., who plays in Saudi Arabia alongside his father, has been making waves with his performances at youth level.

Ronaldo Jr. is part of Al Nassr’s youth setup as he continues to hone his skills under the watchful eyes of both his coaches and his iconic father, who joined the Pro League club in 2022. As Portugal U15s push ahead in the tournament, the spotlight will be on young Ronaldo.
