Jayden Daniels has just played his first season in the NFL but has taken the league by storm. Many players and fans of the league already call the rookie a closer. His clutch performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led the Washington Commanders to make the divisional round for the first time since 2006. A 18 year drought which was changed by the arrival of Daniels. He also helped his head coach, Dan Quinn, become the first Washington coach since 1943 to win a playoff game.
Jayden Daniels was asked about his “killer,” mentality during the post-game conference and he replied “I don’t have an answer for you… I’m just competitive man. I just want to win. (I’ll) do whatever it takes to win.”

Jayden Daniels and the Commanders won the wildcard round, going against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The final score was 23-20. For Daniels’ incredible performance in his first playoff game, Micah Parsons (Line Backer for the Dallas Cowboys), gave Daniels his flowers.
On his podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons, Parsons claimed “When it’s time to win the game, besides Patrick Mahomes, there’s not a better quarterback in the league.”
Daniels gets a lot of comparison drawn towards C.J. Stroud, who was drafted in 2023 and was also the number two pick in the draft. What’s surprising is for the past two years, both C.J. Stroud and Jayden Daniels are number two overalls picks who have both outperformed the former and current number one picks. It is definitely not the norm but is this a new trend in the NFL? Only time will tell.
For now both number two picks of 2023 and 2024 are thriving in the NFL but the number one picks, which includes Bryce Young (2023) and Caleb Williams (2024), not so much.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
