Could Karim Benzema be Coming Back to Real Madrid? French Star Reveals

Moumita Dutta

Karim Benzema is dominating the headlines in midweek with comments that hint at a future that may not be as settled as it once seemed. He is entering the final stretch of his contract with Al Ittihad. And the French striker has begun openly weighing possibilities.

He is considering options both in Saudi Arabia and in Europe. Although, he hasn’t committed firmly in either direction. The uncertainty has created a swirl of speculation around whether a dramatic return to Real Madrid could truly be on the table.

And Benzema seems to be open to the idea. Rather than shutting down rumours, the former Real Madrid captain has spoken with an almost nostalgic honesty about his past and his options. And that has brought up rather more questions about his future with fans asking: what comes next?

Karim Benzema Still Feels Connected to Real Madrid

At nearly 38, Benzema has rejected any notion that he is close to stepping away from the pitch. He continues to emphasise that he feels physically ready for more seasons at the top level. He has noted that he sees himself playing until at least 40.

Alongside that confidence, he has acknowledged that he has ‘options in Europe’. He admitted, “I have to consider everything, choose well, see where I feel good…” However, the most striking comments have centred around his ties to Real Madrid.

In his interview, he didn’t shy away from the possibility of a comeback. He plainly started to AS: “If Florentino is still there, [a transfer] is possible. We talk, and it’s possible.” He followed it with an emotional reminder of how connected he still feels to the club. He said:

“I’m a Madridista. I feel it inside.” Those words reflect where his heart is. The sentiment was echoed again in another interview where he said, “If Florentino [Perez] is still there, it could happen, it could happen.” His admiration for the president remains profound, describing him as someone he can “never say no to.”

A Future Still Wide Open

Despite the affection, nothing indicates a guaranteed reunion. Benzema continues to speak warmly of life in Saudi Arabia and the affection he receives there. He insists that staying put is still a real option. He stated that the club and fans show him immense support. However, with his comments, it seems his future is not bound to one place.
