Cooper Flagg Having a Historical Run With the Blue Devils, Propels Duke Towards the Elite Eight

During Duke’s victory over Arizona, Cooper Flagg scored 30 points, dished out 7 assists, grabbed 6 boards, and recorded 3 blocks, becoming the first NCAA Division I player to this century to achieve such a stat line in regulation time during a college game.

Cooper Flagg Willed His Way Through the Wildcats To Enter the Elite Eight

Duke’s wing made history and propelled his team to elite eight of March Madness. After the game, his coach, Jon Scheyer, couldn’t help but comment on Flagg’s incredible feat. He said;

“That was one of the best tournament performances I’ve ever coached or been a part of… He (Flagg) did what he was supposed to do and he’ll move on and get ready for Alabama.”

In simple words that perfectly summed up Flagg’s performance and the game. Scheyer praised the likely future No.1 pick of the 2025 NBA draft and he deserved it. Flagg did everything you could ask of a guy of his talent: a logo shot to close the first half, blocks, and flashy passes. He shot 47.4 percent from the field and made three of his five three point attempts. He also became the youngest player in NCAA’s history to record 30/5/5 in a tournament game.

However, Wildcats and specifically Caleb Love, did not go down without a fight. Love still delivered 35 points and did everything he could to get a victory. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough.

For the Blue Devil’s next game, they will face Alabama who are coming fresh off of a win against BYU thanks to a red-hot Mark Sears who dropped 34 points in their win and went 10-16 from downtown. Sears is also the first player in NCAA tournament history to record eight 3s and eight assists in the same game.
