Mitchell also added a career-high 14 assists and eight rebounds. Rookie Stephon Castle and Devin Vassell each finished with 22 points. Evan Mobley was rested and Ty Jerome sat out with a sore left knee.
The Indiana Pacers set a franchise record for points in a game in a 162-109 victory against the Washington Wizards. Tyrese Haliburton scored 29 points. Washington also allowed the most points in their franchise history. Myles Turner added 17 points for the Pacers, who won six out of the last seven. The Pacers held an 83-61 at the half. Rookie Alex Sarr paced Washington with 22 points.
Jaden Hardy scored 22 points, and the Dallas Mavericks overcame the Orlando Magic for a third win in four games. Anthony Davis had 15 points and seven rebounds. Paolo Banchero led Orlando with 35 points and 10 rebounds. Franz Wagner had 20 points and nine rebounds. The Magic had poor shooting (5-for-30) from 3-point range. Brandon Williams scored 14 points off the bench. Max Christie and Klay Thompson had 12 apiece.
Josh Giddey’s halfcourt heave at the buzzer helped the Chicago Bulls for a crucial win over the Los Angeles Lakers. The Bulls trailed by five points with 12.6 seconds remaining. Giddey scored 25 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists. Coby White added 26 points and Kevin Huerter had 21. Austin Reaves scored 30 points for the Lakers, who had a 15-point lead in the fourth. Luka Doncic dropped 25 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Jaxson Hayes added 19, and James had 17 points and 12 assists.
NBA-leaders OKC Thunder beat Memphis Grizzlies for a team-record 61st victory. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 37 points and the Thunder won their eighth straight. Jalen Williams added 20 points on his return after a seven-game absence. Isaiah Hartenstein chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds. Jaren Jackson Jr. led Memphis with 27 points. Scotty Pippen Jr. added 17 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and five steals. Ja Morant missed the sixth straight game for the Grizzlies with a strained hamstring.
