First NFC Divisional Round matchup is set : Commanders vs Lions !
The NFL Divisional Round Playoffs is the next step on the road to Super Bowl LIX for the Commanders and the Lions.
After a nail-biting victory against the Buccaneers, secured by a last-second field goal that bounced off the right upright, Tampa Bay now faces the challenge of traveling to Detroit to take on the NFC’s No. 1 seed, the Lions.
Detroit enters the playoffs fresh off a dominant regular season, finishing with the NFC’s best record at 15-2.
Jayden Daniels continues his dream rookie season, delivering the Commanders their first playoff victory since 2006, back when they were still known as the Redskins.
However, the Divisional Round will present a massive challenge for the young quarterback.
Here are the opening odds for Commanders vs. Lions at BetMGM for this NFL Divisional Round Playoff matchup.
For this game, the Lions are seen as heavy favorites after an overwhelmingly dominant regular season.
Whether through the air or on the ground, Detroit appears capable of outmatching any opponent. Led by the incredibly talented Ben Johnson, Detroit’s offense thrives on creativity and unpredictability, making it a nightmare for any defense.
David Montgomery is expected to return for this matchup, adding more firepower to their ground game. Sonic and Knuckles are ready to wreak havoc once again.
On Washington’s side, few expected a team that finished the regular season with a 4-13 record to reach this stage of the competition, especially with a rookie quarterback at the helm.
However, Kliff Kingsbury has found the right formula to help Jayden Daniels thrive. Their offense ranks 10th in DVOA, promising to give the Lions’ defense something to contend with.
