The Washington Commanders host the Denver Broncos for an exciting Week 13 Sunday Night Football clash. This Commanders vs Broncos matchup features two teams with two different stories this season. The Commanders are more or less out of the playoffs already, but the Broncos are still leading the AFC West and it hasn’t even been close in the most part, overachieving this season.

The Commanders are having a very rough year with a 3-8 record, and are on a six-game losing streak currently. After plethora of off season moves and changes, we expected them to get back to where they were and even beyond, however, with Jayden Daniels in and out of the lineup with multiple injuries to him and the others, along with inconsistency on both sides of the field, has them headed for an early offseason, something which we did not expect.

Meanwhile, the Broncos have been special this season, thanks to their defense ranking top-10 in nearly every statistical category. Due to this their offense, while mediocre at best, is still managing enough points to now be on a 8-game win streak. They are undefeated at home, but have dropped two of five games on the road, which adds a little intrigue to this game.

Rationale and Analysis

Deebo Samuel under 37.5 receiving yards is a great bet as the Denver Broncos as arguably the best defensive team in the NFL this season, resulting in a lot of success for the team. They only allow 185.8 passing yards on average, and have only allowed 9 passing TDs this season, tied for 1st. Broncos have done a great job this season on containing teams this season, and only allow 17.5 points a game, which could cramp Commanders’ offense.

While the Broncos are not exactly a team that thrive on interceptions, their lockdown defense has been frustrating for the opposition. Mariota has 5 interceptions thrown this season on 7 games, and looks to make big plays, which could cost him an interception. Looking at the Broncos stout defense, this is a safe bet.

Bo Nix under 33.5 passing attempts is a great bet as we expect the Broncos to jump out to an early lead, and focus more on clock control than volume of passes thrown. R.J. Harvey may get more touches this game, if the Broncos’ defense continues to be what it has been this season. Unless the game gets close, Nix should remain below 33.5 attempts.

Commanders vs Broncos Prediction

We expect the Denver Broncos to beat the Washington Commanders. The Commanders 18th in total offense, but are one of the worst defensive teams in the NFL, despite the offseason additions, which the Broncos could capitalize on. If the Broncos get a couple of TDs and some field goal attempts, the Commanders have little to no chance of winning the game, as the Broncos defense is unforgiving. Look for this game to be a low scoring contest, with Broncos controlling the clock and possessions.
