In a nightmarish turn during the Washington Commanders‘ 38-14 demolition by the Seattle Seahawks on November 2, 2025, sophomore sensation Jayden Daniels’ season took a devastating hit. The QB already battling through a hamstring tweak that sidelined him briefly earlier in the year, scrambled desperately from the Seattle 2-yard line with 7:39 left in the fourth quarter. Trailing 38-7 in a game long decided, Daniels aimed for a consolation score, only to be dragged down by linebacker Drake Thomas. As he twisted to brace his fall, his left (non-throwing) elbow hyperextended grotesquely backward under his full body weight, dislocating on impact.
A terrifying injury

X-rays later ruled out fractures, but the dislocation, confirmed by sources, demanded an MRI to assess ligament damage. Head coach Dan Quinn drew immediate backlash for keeping his franchise cornerstone in the fray during garbage time. Critics blasted the decision as reckless, arguing Daniels should have been benched to preserve health in an unwinnable game. Some analysts called it “Malpractice,” and Quinn owned the call postgame, clearly feeling gutted.
According to the latest report by Adam Schefter, The Washington Commanders do not expect to place QB Jayden Daniels on injured reserve and they will reevaluate Daniels’ elbow injury during the bye week.
This report means Jayden Daniels will not miss at least 4 games (the minimum for injured reserve). The Commanders are optimistic his dislocated left elbow will heal enough during the bye week to avoid IR and potentially return as early as Week 11. They’ll reassess after rest and rehab, and no surgery is needed.
Since there isn’t a need for surgery and Daniels is expected to be back soon, provided that he’s fully recovered, the Commanders can hope for another playoff push this season.
The Commanders are currently 3-6 for the season but can certainly make a playoff push. They are 1.5 games behind the Dallas Cowboys and may catch up to if Jayden Daniels returns. However, their chances are not so bright as they are on a four-game losing streak. And even if Daniels returns soon, they have a lot of other problems involving their defense and offense that needs to be fixed. However, Daniels’ return will boost their chances without question.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
