Colts Edge Falcons in Thrilling OT Battle From Berlin

Eric Divakaran

In a Week 10 spectacle at Berlin’s Olympiastadion, the Indianapolis Colts mirrored their recent inconsistencies with missed kicks, turnovers, and stalled drives, yet they clawed to a 31-25 overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Daniels Jones’ interception and kicker Michael Badgley’s botched extra point and 53-yards field goal attempt fueled Atlanta’s late surge, including Tyler Allgeier’s go-ahead 1 yard TD with 1:44 left.

Jones battled turnover in this game with three fumbles (one lost) and an interception but connected on a 37-yard TD to Alec Pierce and scrambled to set up Michael Badgley’s game tying 44-yard field goal with 26 seconds left. A critical fourth-down conversion to rookie TE Tyler Warren kept the drive alive. In the midst of chaos, a bizzare botched coin toss took place as refs re-flipped after mistakenly letting hosts call, which saw Atlanta defer, paving Jonathan Taylor’s path to another great game.

Jonathan Taylor for MVP – Colts Ride RB to 8-2

Jonathan Taylor tailored a Berlin masterpiece, erupting for 244 rushing yards on 32 carries with three touchdowns, including an 83-yard bolt that trimmed Atlanta’s lead to 22-17 and an untouched 8-yard OT walk-off. His scores set a franchise record with 65 career rushing TDs, eclipsing Edgerrin James. Taylor’s terrific run game shredded Atlanta’s defense for a 295-147 rushing edge, controlling tempo and masking his QB Jones’ turnovers.

Meanwhile, Bijan Robinson was nowhere to be found with 84 yards on 17 carries, which just couldn’t match the volume, as Falcons’ hesitance to hand him the football in the second half, just two third-quarter handoffs, doomed them, shooting themselves in the foot.

8-2 Surge for the Colts Holding the Top Spot for Playoff Push

This rebound game vaults the Colts to 8-2, keeping them at the top of their division in the AFC South and getting them back in the winning column after their last week’s loss to the Steelers. Despite Michael Penix Jr. getting 177 yards and a TD, Indy’s late-game heroics and Taylor’s MVP caliber dominance fuel their playoff dreams.

The Colts have their bye week in Week 11, but one thing is clear, the Colts with Sauce Gardner’s addition, are ready to make a deep playoff run and possibly win the Super Bowl. However, they must refrain from self sabotage and keep the same momentum going. On the other hand, the Falcons have now dropped to 3-6 for the season with a four-game losing streak.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
