Can strength and grit beat prototypical size?
Collin Murray-Boyles has battled past major setbacks to stand tall at the heart of the 2025 NBA Draft conversation. The talented forward was selected by the Toronto Raptors as the No. 9 pick in the draft. Coming from massive performances for the A.C. Flora High School and Wasatch Academy, the power forward was rated a four-star recruit, standing out early for his rebounding instincts, and inside scoring ability.

He averaged 15.0 points, and 8.8 rebounds, leading the conference in boards and ranking third in scoring during his high school senior year. As a result of that, Collin Murray-Boyles was ranked in the Top 100 nationally, and committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Murray-Boyles’ freshman campaign fell short of expectations after mononucleosis sidelined him for nearly a month. Coming back in his Sophie year, the forward averaged 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, thus shooting from an impressive 58.6 % from the field.
Collin Murray-Boyles Age
Boyles was born on June 10, 2005, in Columbia, South Carolina. His parents are Sean and Yvonne Boyles. He is currently 20 years old.
Collin Murray-Boyles Height
At 6’ 6.5”, Collin is slightly undersized for a traditional power forward. This allows greater balance for battling in the post and absorbing contact when driving to the basket. But in post matchups, his lack of elite height could leave him vulnerable against taller, forwards with a good range.

Collin Murray-Boyles Weight
The 20-year-old weighs approximately 239 lbs (108 kg), allowing him to hold his ground in the paint and finish through aggressive interior play. His frame also allows him to post up effectively and establish a physical presence that could turn mismatches into scoring opportunities.
Collin Murray-Boyles Vertical and Wingspan
Boyles holds a near 7-foot wingspan that allows him to contest shots, and grab rebounds. On defense, this extended reach is more valuable, in generating steals and intercepting opponents’ shots.
His 29.5-inch no-step and 34.5-inch max vertical suggest decent lift, but he may struggle to separate from top-tier athletes. His leaping ability might limit in his ceiling in fast break situations and one-on-one drives.
