The Cavaliers’ juggernaut has hit a snag
The Cavs come into this game after a 4-point loss against the Houston Rockets despite a 39-point and 9-assist explosion by Darius Garland. They have now lost three in a row and five out of their last eight games. These losses must stung by the team that has won 12 or more games twice this season. But such a dry spell was due after they showcased terrific effort to start the season. The Cavs are clicking on all cylinders while scoring but need more defensive discipline to succeed in the postseason. But their high-scoring shootout style has also enabled them to become a serious title contender.
The Pistons have risen a bit
The Pistons enter the game after an 8-point loss against the Orlando Magic as Cade Cunningham accumulated 35 points and 11 assists. They have lost 3 out of the last five contests, but have a strong 9-4 record in January. Cunningham has fueled their resurgence and their current performances are also a testament to their offseason moves. Tim Hardaway Jr, Malik Beasley, and Tobias Harris have brought veteran presence while Jalen Duren has been an immense hustle presence. The team will be awaiting the return of guard Jaden Ivey to bolster their backcourt further.

The Pistons are no pushovers this season and the Cavs will be wary of them at home. Thus, we are in for a cracker. However, I see the Cavaliers getting out of a funk and pulling out a strong win here. The total can go over 235 points here.

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
