On Sunday, July 27, the Chicago Sky (7-17) will host the Indiana Fever (13-12) in a WNBA regular-season game. The Fever have climbed to the 6th spot while the Sky lingers at the 11th position.
The Fever enters the match-up after an emphatic 80-70 win against the Las Vegas Aces, as Kelsey Mitchell scored 21. They held Aces to 2/13 shooting from the three-point line and made 11 triples (47% FG).
On the other hand, the Sky enters the game after an embarrassing 57-95 defeat against the Seattle Storm despite a 13-point, 13-rebound performance by Kamila Cardoso. The Sky were without their leading scorers, Ariel Atkins and Angel Reese.
Will Reese return for Sky as they will potentially face a Caitlin Clark-less Fever? Check the predictions related to player props, total, and spread here.

Indiana Fever
Fever Expected Starting Lineup
SG: Aari McDonald | SG: Kelsey Mitchell | SF: Sophie Cunningham | PF: Natasha Howard | C: Aliyah Boston
Key bench players: SG: Lexie Hull, SG: Sydney Colson, PF: Damiris Dantas
Injuries/Updates: Caitlin Clark is likely to be OUT.
The Sky is the worst offensive team currently, even if Angel Reese plays. They often struggle to even reach the 75-point mark. On the other hand, the Fever has usually scored from the early 80s to mid 80s.
Defensively, the Sky has struggled a lot and has given up 90+ in three of the last four games. The Fever is prone to lean defensive nights, too. Overall, I’d choose to go “Over” for the total.
Total: Over 157.5 for -105 at BetMGM
Here is an overview of my selections:
| Picks | BetMGM Odds |
| Total O 157.5 | -105 |
| Spread- Fever -9.5 | -105 |
| Angel Reese O 15.5 Points | TBD |
| Money Line- Fever | -450 |
Angel Reese O 15.5 Points: Reese (Game-Time Decision) is averaging 13.8 PPG but has been a much bigger offensive factor recently. She has scored 15 or more in eight of the last nine games. Thus, I reckon a well-rested Reese will put up at least 16.
Sophie Cunningham O 1.5 3-pointers: As stated above, Cunningham has been burying the long-range ball at a high clip. The in-form guard can rack up at least 2 deep lasers here.
Aliyah Boston O 8.5 rebounds: The Fever center has been phenomenal on the rebounding end. She has collected 10 or more in two straight games. Considering Sky’s shoddy offense, she has the chance to hit double digits again.
Main pick: Angel Reese O 15.5 points at BetMGM
The Sky will surely be a much better squad if Reese plays here. But the Fever will remain the favorite to win this game. Indiana has the depth to survive without Caitlin Clark, but sometimes, they do let go of momentum.
Overall, the backcourt pair of Kelsey Mitchell and Sophie Cunningham can overwhelm the decimated guard combinations of the Sky. That alone makes Indiana the likely winner here. I’d reckon they’d cover the spread whether Reese plays or not.
Spread/Money Line Pick: Spread: Fever 9,5 for -105 at BetMGM

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
