Week 8 of the NFL season will get underway with the usual Thursday Night Football (TNF) action on Amazon Prime Video. This week’s Thursday night prime-time game will see the Los Angeles Chargers (4-3) take on the Minnesota Vikings (3-3).
The Chargers are entering week 8 on the back of a 38-24 loss against the Indianapolis Colts, whereas the Vikings lost 22-28 to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Justin Herbert is coming off a stellar passing performance in week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. Despite the Chargers’ loss, Herbert threw for 420 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Vikings’ pass defense is generally one of the better ones, so there is a chance they can contain him better than the Colts.
Wide receiver Justin Jefferson has put on some amazing performances in his past three games with 126, 123, and 79 receiving yards, respectively. However, the Chargers also boast a top secondary that should be able to restrict him for the most part.
The Vikings’ defense is allowing just above 20 points per game at 20.8 this season, while the Chargers’ defense has allowed 23.3 points per game so far. Meanwhile, on the offensive side of things, Minnesota is scoring around 24 points, while L.A. is putting up approximately 21.6 points per game.
With the way the Los Angeles Chargers started this season, with 3 wins in their first 3 games against all divisional opponents, it looked like the AFC West would go through L.A. this year. But then came the injuries, especially to the running back room, and since then, the Chargers have dropped 3 of their last 4 games.
Minnesota, meanwhile, is 3-3 with wins coming over a shaky Bears team in week 1, a Joe Burrowless Bengals team, and the struggling Cleveland Browns. They have yet to pull off wins over teams with better records, and even though the Chargers aren’t as dominant at the moment, the scale tips slightly in L.A.’s favor.
