Rationale and Analysis

Omarion Hampton is slowly starting to come around this season, and he jumped from 24 rushing yards in Week 2, to 128 yards in Week 4 against the Giants, despite the loss. He’s recorded two TDs in the last two games, and also caught 11 receptions in these two weeks. Hampton is one of the Chargers’ offensive weapons, who gets a lot of touches in a game, and we expect him to score at least a TD in Week 5 against the Commanders.

The Chargers have been excellent on passing defense, ranking 5th amongst others, while the Commanders rank all the way down at 27th. However the Commanders have been better in their red zone defense, ranking 16th, while the Chargers sit at 2nd place in the league. However, inconsistencies, offensively, for both teams’ offenses, Commanders ranking 25th in passing offense and Chargers ranking 20th in scoring offense, makes us believe that total TDs will under 5.5.

Deebo Samuels is a threat to score a TD at any given point because he’s scored in two games thus far, where they faced the second best pass defensive team against Falcons and a 7th ranked Packers team in terms of total defense. With Jayden Daniels back in the lineup, his touches is bound to increase in this game, making Samuels a threat to score a TD at any time.

The Chargers host the Commanders at SoFi stadium in Week 5. After a narrow loss to the Giants, the Chargers rely on Justin Herbert’s arm and a stout defense led by Derwin James Jr., but face offensive line injuries. The Commanders, fresh a defeat to Atlanta, welcome back QB Jayden Daniels from knee injury, boosting their mobile offense despite missing Terry McLaurin.

While the Commanders are getting their QB1 back, Washington’s road woes have persisted with a three-game skid in LA. Due to this reason, we pick the Chargers to win the matchup, as L.A. have been defensively elite this season, and we expect the Commanders to struggle to find the end zone, giving that Terry McLaurin is out for the game too.
