Casper Ruud vs. Karen Khachanov Head-to-Head, Prediction, and Betting Odds for ATP National Bank Open 2025 Round of 16

Rudra Dubey

Ruud and Khachanov face off in a fourth-round clash in Toronto for the quarterfinal spot.

Eighth seed Casper Ruud will square off against 11th seed Karen Khachanov in the fourth round of the National Bank Open in Toronto. Both players entered in the second round, receiving byes in the first round. Ruud has looked sharp so far, easing past Roman Safiullin and 30th seed Nuno Borges in straight sets. Meanwhile, Khachanov in Toronto has come through against qualifiers Juan Pablo Ficovich and Emilio Nava.

The Norwegian has quietly put together a strong season but with some setbacks. He claimed his biggest title of the year in Madrid, outlasting Jack Draper in a gritty three-set final. Earlier, he reached the final in Dallas, falling to Denis Shapovalov, and notched quarterfinal runs in Barcelona, Rome, and Gstaad. A knee injury forced him to withdraw from Wimbledon, but overall, his 2025 campaign, so far, has been efficient. Stat-wise, he’s fired 171 aces, won 71% of his first-serve points, and converted 37% of 234 break point opportunities.

Khachanov, in contrast, has been regaining form after a string of early exits early in the year. He’s reached the semifinals in both Barcelona and Halle and the quarterfinals in Geneva, Libema, and Wimbledon. His stat line includes 246 aces, a 72% first-serve win rate, and a 41% break point conversion from 318 opportunities.

Both times, it was the Norwegian who emerged victorious, but not without a fight. Ruud dropped sets in each encounter, proving that Khachanov isn’t far off.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
