Casper Ruud and Felix Auger-Aliassime Make Huge Leap in ATP Rankings After October Heroics

Both men are hunting down a spot in the Nitto ATP Finals.

Casper Ruud and Felix Auger-Aliassime have made big gains by entering the Top-10 of the ATP Rankings on Monday. The duo picked up titles this month, and also reached the quarterfinals at the 2025 Swiss Indoors in Basel. As a result, Ruud and Auger-Aliassime have pushed their way to No. 9 and No. 10 in the world.

“I think I played the best match of the year against you, so I am sorry,” Ruud told Frenchman Ugo Humbert after beating him in the Nordic Open Stockholm final. It happened to be the Norwegian’s second title of the year – he also won the Madrid Masters in May. In a season where the 26-year-old attained just three wins at the Grand Slams, the month of October proved to be fruitful for Ruud.

Just like his new Top-10 compatriot, Auger-Aliassime had to retire from his quarterfinal in Basel. The No. 5 seed entered the tournament on the back of a monumental triumph in Brussels. This has elevated him to the ninth spot in the ATP Live Race to Turin. The 25-year-old Canadian has an impressive record of 43-21 in 2025; this includes three championship runs in total.

Casper Ruud and Felix Auger-Aliassime Keep Turin Hopes Alive in Rankings

While Ruud made his last appearance in the Top-10 back in June 2025, Auger-Aliassime is entering the elite ATP list after two years. Hoping to go back-to-back in the Swiss city, Auger-Aliassime’s retirement dented his hopes of a potential spot in the Nitto ATP Finals. Ruud is not far behind in his chase for qualification, and currently sits in 10th spot. With the ATP-250s in Athens and Metz set to follow the ongoing Paris Masters, things are bound to get intense.

Casper Ruud has been ranked as high as World No. 2 (in 2022). He is a three-time Grand Slam finalist, and has one of the most compact game styles on the men’s tour. He has 14 singles trophies to his name, as well as a runner-up trophy in mixed doubles at the 2025 US Open. On the other hand, Felix Auger-Aliassime achieved a career-high World No. 6 ranking around the same time as Ruud’s ascent to the Top-2. He has reached two US Open semifinals, and finished fourth at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
