Their announcement comes ahead of the ninth edition at the O2 next September, with Alcaraz representing Team Europe and Fritz returning as a cornerstone for Team World. The decision follows Team World’s recent 15-9 win in San Francisco, where Fritz beat Alcaraz for the first time before sealing the title with another victory.

Renewed Stakes for a Tournament Built on Big Moments

The 2026 Laver Cup will take place at the O2 Arena from September 25 to 27, marking the venue’s third time hosting after the 2017 and 2022 editions. The arena was also the stage for Roger Federer’s farewell appearance alongside Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, adding further significance to the event’s return to London.

Alcaraz, who recently finished another standout year that included wins at the US Open and French Open and a third straight Wimbledon final, expressed enthusiasm for returning to a team environment. He said, “To play at The O2 in London is going to be amazing. Having the chance to be in a team with players that normally I’m fighting against during the year is really unique and what makes me keep wanting to play Laver Cup every year. Hopefully, we’ll have the crowd behind us and I’m really motivated to help Team Europe win the Laver Cup back.”

Team Europe captain Yannick Noah highlighted what Alcaraz brings to the squad. “Carlos brings unique talent, passion and confidence that lifts everyone around him. He is committed to his teammates and has an intense desire to win. I am excited to have him back.”

For Team World, Fritz remains central to their identity after competing in five editions and winning three.
