Mikhail Sergachev's late overtime goal lifts Utah to their third consecutive win, overcoming Vancouver 3-2 at Delta Center.
The Utah Hockey Club came back to beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 at Delta Center on Wednesday. Mikhail Sergachev netted a goal with 12 seconds remaining in overtime. The defenseman netted his second overtime goal of the season after receiving a pass from Logan Cooley during a 2-on-1.
“Yeah, it feels good, Finally we got [two points] at home. It feels great. I don’t think we have won at home in a month or so. So you know, obviously a big one.” : Sergachev said.
Clayton Keller registered a goal and an assist, while Cooley contributed two assists for Utah (15-11-5), which achieved its third consecutive victory, lengthened its point streak to six (5-0-1), and put an end to a five-game home losing streak.

Karel Vejmelka recorded 24 saves. Quinn Hughes recorded two assists for the Canucks (16-9-6), who have a record of 2-2-2 over their last six matches. Thatcher Demko recorded 28 stops. At 9:02 in the third period, Keller netted a goal from a rebound of a shot by Nick Schmaltz, narrowing Utah’s deficit to 2-1.
Dylan Guenther equalized the score at 2-2 during the power play at 15:30 when his shot deflected off Vancouver forward Teddy Blueger and went by Demko.
Danton Heinen put the Canucks ahead 1-0 with a power-play score at 12:39 in the second period, tallying off the rebound from a shot by Hughes. Dakota Joshua found the net on a breakaway following a pass from Blueger at 2:45 in the third period, increasing the score to 2-0. Utah is set to travel again to face the Minnesota Wild on Friday.
