WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark ranked ninth among guards in the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game’s player voting. The 23-year-old has been named as one of the captains for the WNBA All-Star Game which is set to take place in Indianapolis on July 19. ESPN expert Dick Vitale slammed WNBA players after the All-Star voting. He pointed out the way other players in the league are treating Caitlin Clark after the votes. The former Iowa star has been ranked behind Paige Bueckers, Sabrina Ionescu, Allisha Gray, Kelsey Mitchell, Skylar Diggins, Brittney Sykes, and Natasha Cloud. Vitale pointed out how the other players in the league are jealous of Clark’s popularity.
He took to X to write, “Absolutely PURE JEALOUSY that @WNBA players voted Caitlin Clark the 9th best guard. Some day they will realize what she Has done for ALL of the players in the WNBA. Charted planes – increase in salaries-sold out crowds – improved TV Ratings.”
What Vitale pointed out isn’t uncommon in the league. There have been several incidents where Clark’s rivals have put their ‘jealousy’ on display. The reason behind it could be the Fever superstar’s outsized popularity among fans and the fraternity.
