Injury troubles keep haunting Indiana’s marquee name
Just hours before Thursday’s tip-off against the Sparks, the Indiana Fever were dealt yet another injury setback. Caitlin Clark, who has been a cornerstone for the side, missed out on the Sparks game due to an injury.
Caitlin Clark suffered a groin injury during a training session on Wednesday. She felt discomfort in her groin and immediately notified the medical team. She was taken for an MRI scan to determine the extent of the injury.
Though the scan results haven’t been revealed, head coach Stephanie White indicated that the injury doesn’t appear serious. She remains in the day-to-day category. Caitlin Clark just recently made a return to the side after going through a quad injury.

Due to that particular injury, Clark also had to miss five games. However, her return coincided with the New York Liberty’s first loss of the season, which came at the behest of Caitlin Clark effect. The 23-year-old guard was just finding their rhythm and now another injury looms.
The timeline for Caitlin Clark’s return remains unclear, as the Fever have yet to release an official update. However, since head coach Stephanie White described her “day-to-day”, she could come back sooner than later.
The coach described that her return depends on how well she heals. Caitlin Clark remains an important piece for the Indiana Fever. Her absence in the Thursday night game against the Los Angeles Sparks brought another loss to their name.
Despite holding a halftime lead, the Fever lost control in the second half and ultimately fell 75-85. Their fourth quarter performance of 17-35 tilted the game for good in favor of the Sparks. Kelsey Mitchell’s 20 points went in vain while Aari McDonald’s return to the Fever was special with 14 points.
