Caitlin Clark reportedly turned down a massive $15 million offer to play in a separate basketball league shortly after leaving the University of Iowa.

The NCAA’s all-time leading scorer and four-time first-team All-American was selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. Clark signed a four-year rookie deal worth $338,056. Alongside that, she secured a significant endorsement contract with Nike, valued at $28 million over eight years.

Shortly after her WNBA draft selection, Clark drew attention from the Big3, the three-on-three basketball league founded by Ice Cube. For weeks, reports circulated about a $5 million offer to lure her away from the WNBA. However, the Big3 later clarified that the final figure stood at a staggering $15 million.

“We offered Caitlin Clark $15 million,” the league revealed on the TFU Podcast. “It started at $5 (million). But the official final offer was $15 million for 10 weeks.”

Accepting the deal would have made Clark one of the highest-paid women in basketball instantly, particularly for such a short competition window. Still, she chose to remain with the WNBA, focusing on her rookie campaign with Indiana. The move aligns with her long-term vision, especially as the league prepares for a major renegotiation of its player agreement later this year.

While Clark’s WNBA salary is modest compared to the Big3 offer, her endorsement earnings ensure she remains financially secure. With multiple deals already in place, including the Nike partnership, she has become one of the most marketable athletes in the sport.

Away from contractual headlines, Clark also made news off the court this week. Teammate Sophie Cunningham shared an Instagram picture dressed in boots and a cowboy hat while posing beside a truck. The Fever captain captioned it, “Back when my knee was healthy,” referencing her recovery from surgery.

Clark humorously commented, “Jeez Sophie… Can’t like this.” Cunningham replied with equal playfulness, “Wanna buy a truck? I can get you a good deal.”
