Bukayo Saka Reaffirms Arsenal Commitment Ahead of Champions League Clash With Real Madrid

“I Want To Win Wearing This Badge,” Says Saka As He Eyes Champions League Glory With the Gunners.

“I want to win and I want to win wearing this badge.” Those were Bukayo Saka’s words as he offered the clearest hint yet that he is ready to commit to Arsenal for a long-term future. This came just days before the Gunners’ huge Champions League quarter-final tie against Real Madrid.

Saka recently returned after recovering from a three-month hamstring injury. He scored a goal in this return in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Fulham. The 23-year-old told reporters ahead of the Madrid clash, “It is pretty clear – the fans know how much I love them… I am really happy to be here and I’m just focused on winning.”

Saka Focused on Arsenal and Trophies

Bukayo Saka has two years left on his current contract with Arsenal. Even so there have been speculations around his contract situation. Saka reportedly earning £300,000 per week, downplayed any urgency. He mentioned that talks were “pretty relaxed.” He emphasized that his relationship with the club and fans remains strong.

Saka stated, “Everyone knows my thoughts… I don’t think there’s any rush really.” Even so, reportedly, Andrea Berta has made it one of his top priorities to secure Saka’s long stay at the club as the Gunners’ new sporting director. His return from injury couldn’t have come at a better time for Mikel Arteta’s side. The winger now looks sharp and mentally refreshed.

“The past five years I’ve been playing game after game… it was the first proper break I’ve had,” Saka admitted, “I feel fresher mentally for sure.” Saka also opened up about his emotional comeback in Arsenal’s match against Fulham, when he scored and celebrated with fitness coach Sam Wilson, saying, “You had to be in the stadium to feel the noise and energy… I’m really grateful.”

Ready for Real Madrid and Champions League Glory

Arsenal are preparing for one of the club’s biggest European nights in years. They are set to face Real Madrid in the quarter-final on Tuesday night. Absolutely thrashing PSV in the Round of 16 by an aggregate 9-3 margin, the Gunners kept on their unbeaten form in the league in the last few weeks.
