Brooklyn Nets vs Golden State Warriors Match Preview

Nets: Back to their losing ways

The Brooklyn Nets will trudge into this affair after a 14-point loss against the San Antonio Spurs despite a 24-point performance by Cam Thomas. It was their fifth loss in a row, a result of the never-ending changes in the rotations due to injuries and trades. Their defense was incredible from the last week of January to the third week of February, as they were conceding around just 100 points per game, whereas they are now giving up more than 115 points consistently. The non-improvement in offense and the loss of defensive discipline is responsible for the current strings of defeats.

Expected Starting Lineup

PG: D’Angelo Russell | SG: Cam Thomas | SG/SF: Ziaire Williams | SF/PF: Cameron Johnson | C: Nic Claxton

Key Injuries/Updates: Noah Clowney is OUT for the game.

Warriors: Jimmy Butler proves he is a winner

The Warriors enter the affair after a 12-point win against the New York Knicks as Stephen Curry had an electric 28-point performance. They have won two in a row and have won nine out of ten games when Jimmy Butler has been active. As a result, they have sprung from the ninth/tenth seed to the sixth seed in the hotly contested West. They have allowed just 105.1 points per game with Butler, which is a huge improvement over their season average of 111 PPG. Apart from that, they have also put up around 121 PPG, a huge uptick from their season tally of 113.1 PPG.

Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Stephen Curry | SG: Brandin Podziemski | SG/SF: Moses Moody | SF: Jimmy Butler | PF/C: Draymond Green

Key Injuries/Updates: The status of Jonathan Kuminga and Gary Payton III is unclear.

Brooklyn Nets vs Golden State Warriors Total Over/Under Prediction

The Warriors have been on fire on the offensive end lately, constantly crossing the 120-point mark. Defensively, they have shut down even brilliant offenses under 107 or so. Meanwhile, the Nets have given up 115+ or so regularly while scoring below 110 regularly. I believe the Warriors will continue their trend of scoring a lot and containing their opponents to below-average scores.

Projected Predictions:

  • Total Over 229.5 at BetMGM
  • Nets: Points Under 104.5 for +110 at BetMGM
  • Warriors: Points Over 118.5 for +100 at BetMGM

Brooklyn Nets Player Props Predictions- Projected Top Bets & Odds

D’Angelo Russell to score at least 15 points: The lefty guard returned to the lineup during the last game. His scoring has been down to around 12 PPG for the Nets since January, after starting at around 15 PPG for them. However, I see him getting in the 14-17 points range here.

Cam Thomas to be held under 21 points: The isolation scorer has amassed 24.2 PPG during the season. However, I believe Butler will help shut him down around the 16-19 points range.

Golden State Warriors Player Props Predictions – Projected Top Bets & Odds

Stephen Curry to score over 30.5 points: The greatest three-point shooter of all time has enjoyed a brilliant stretch since February, averaging around 30 PPG. He hasn’t touched the mark in the last three games, but I see him get past the 30-point mark here..

Draymond Green to dish over 7.5 assists: The Warriors’ defensive maestro has served 7-8 helpers in each of the last three games, and I expect him to continue the trend.

Brooklyn Nets vs Golden State Warriors Match Prediction

The Nets’ funk can be attributed to their lack of a true point guard who can manage the floor well. They have talented isolation scorers, however, a terrific defensive lineup like Warriors can take care of business in such cases through brilliant blitz actions and curbing the passing lanes. Meanwhile, the Dubs are on fire on both ends and Curry’s hot shooting form has added many wins for them recently. I expect Steph to go off here and help his team win by double digits.

Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
