The Nets are heading in a promising direction
The Nets enter the match-up after a brilliant 16-point win against the Miami Heat as Cameron Johnson scored 18 points. Their defense has been stellar lately as they have allowed just 103.3 points per game in the last ten games(2nd). This is a brilliant effort for a young team and is reminiscent of how the Oklahoma City Thunder has risen through the ranks lately. However, the team may not have identified their franchise centerpiece as the Thunder did with Shai-Gilgeous Alexander. At any rate, hanging on to Cameron Johnson may have been the right choice.
The Hornets are in perpetual disarray
The Hornets will enter the game after a match against the Detroit Pistons on the previous night. They have once again faced a devastating season and have lost six or more three times this season. LaMelo Ball has been superb as a scorer and playmaker, while he has received terrific support from Miles Bridges. However, the team lacks the depth to sustain a high-quality offense. In an interesting twist, they traded Mark Williams for Dalton Knecht but the trade was rescinded because Williams failed a physical. This can translate into an awkward locker room atmosphere but to be honest, the Hornets are always in flux.

Key stats:
The Nets have played tremendous defense for a couple of weeks while the Hornets often struggle on the offensive end. Thus, the Nets will enter with a substantial edge especially considering they will face a Hornets team coming in without any rest. Thus, I see the Nets winning by 10+ points while limiting Charlotte below 98 points.

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
