The Boston Celtics are set to welcome the Utah Jazz for a NBA 2025-26 regular-season match up on Monday, November 3. The Celtics will head into the game on the back of a blowout loss to the Houston Rockets, and will aim to turnaround the results of the past game. Similarly, the Utah Jazz are heading into the game on the back of a 126-103 loss to the Charlotte Hornets. They are on a three-game losing skid, and would want to avoid a 4-0 hole against the Celtics.

| Jaylen Brown O 24.5 points | -130 | – |
| Lauri Markkanen O 27.5 points | -106 | – |
| Total U 232.5 points | -110 | -110 |
Jaylen Brown has shouldered the Celtics’ offensive load in the absence of Jayson Tatum. He has been averaging 25.4 points, while shooting 53.7% from the field and 46.3% from the three-point range. In the clashes against the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers, Brown dropped 32 and 30 points, respectively, while shooting 13-19 and 12-20 from the field, respectively. With the Jazz’s frontcourt depleted with the potential absence of Walker Kessler and Georges Niang sidelined for a few days, Tatum’s scoring should shine against the Jazz, with a defense rating of 117.4 that places them in the bottom of the standings. Brown scoring over 24.5 points looks like a safe bet.
Lauri Markkanen, on the other hand, has emerged as the offensive engine for the Utah Jazz, who have been otherwise struggling in the season. Markkanen has been dropping an average of 33.8 points per game, grabbing 6.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. He is shooting 50.5% from the field and 39.2% from the three-point line. In the last three games, he came up with scores of 29 points, 33 points, and 38 points with impressive shooting from the field. Though the elite Celtics defense could present some challenges for him, considering the Jazz’s dependence, Markkanen would finish over 28 points.
Both Celtics and Jazz have posted pretty low scores in the ongoing season. While the Celtics have never crossed the 125-point total, the Jazz have also been inconsistent offensively. The Utah Jazz’s struggles, marked by high turnovers and a declining offensive rating over the seasons, combined with the Celtics’ elite defense (defensive rating 114.2), would clamp together to make the under 232.5 points total a value play in this game.
The Boston Celtics, considered as the most successful team in the history of the league, began the season with high expectations. They finished the previous campaign as Eastern Conference semifinalists and were hoping for bigger things this season. Though the season has just started, they have more losses than victories. It could be said that this is certainly not the start the Celtics would have hoped for.
One of the biggest reasons behind the early-season setbacks is absence of players such as Jrue Holiday, and Al Horford who made offseason moves. Another reason Jayson Tatum missed the most, if not all, of the current season with an injury. However, when compared with the Jazz, the Celtics are doing fairly well. The Jazz, on the other hand, started off the season with a significant win over the Los Angeles Clippers, giving hopes of a better season.
However, right in the next game, they fell before recording their second win of the season. Since then, they haven’t been able to win any game and are currently 2-4 in the ongoing season. So far in the season, the Jazz have shown offensive glitches and have one of the worst-rated defenses in the league. Though Lauri Markkanen has been playing exceptionally well, the Jazz haven’t been able to deliver collective performances.
Considering the overall performances of both teams as well as home advantage of the Celtics, the hosts are likely to overwhelm a shorthanded Jazz team.
According to spread and moneyline odds on FanDuel, the Celtics are likely to overpower the hosts on Monday.
