The winner of the Celtics-Knicks series will clash against the winner of the Cavs-Pacers series in Conference Finals.

The Boston Celtics will be up against the New York Knicks in the Second Round of the NBA Playoffs 2025. It will be the 17th time that both teams will be up against each other in the playoffs, the second-most time for any pair of opponents in the history of the league. However, it will be the first time they will lock horns in the playoffs since 2013.

The reigning champions, who are in the quest of their 19th NBA Championship, are coming on the back of a 4-1 win over the seventh-seeded Orlando Magic. Talking about their regular season campaign the Celtics had a remarkable campaign, where they posted 61 wins and 21 losses on the leaderboard, and earned the second seed. In addition, they finished second in terms of offensive rating with 119.5 and fourth with the defensive rating of 110.1.

Talking about the New York Knicks, they finished the regular season with a 51-31 record, in the third spot of the Eastern Conference standings. They were paired against the Detroit Pistons in the opening-round series of the playoffs. The Knicks clinched the series 4-2, and as it seems, it wasn’t an easy win for them. The Pistons gave them a tough fight and the biggest winning margin between them was 11 points.

The upcoming series will be an intense clash between the Celtics’ offense consisting of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown and the Knicks’ defense of OG Anunoby and Josh Hart.
