Boston Celtics vs New Orleans Pelicans Preview

The Celtics have continued to be a powerhouse in the East. However, the 2024 NBA champions haven’t been as dominant as last season. Their defense has taken a hit and their bench depth is atrocious outside of Payton Pritchard. Meanwhile, their long-range shooting has also not been lethal like the last season. As a result, they haven’t won three games in a row since late November, which sums up their struggles. Will they be able to defend their title this season?

The Pelicans have been injury-riddled throughout the season. Zion Williamson continues to be out for them regularly meanwhile losing Brandon Ingram has decimated their balance. Dejounte Murray’s acquisition didn’t address the backcourt issues that have plagued them for multiple years, but without their two key players, it is too much of an ask anyway. At this point, the Pels have to decide if it’s time to blow it up and rebuild around a different talent than Williamson.

Boston Celtics vs New Orleans Pelicans– Final Prediction and Additional Information

The Celtics will enter as overwhelming favorites despite their offensive inconsistencies. While the Pelicans have been much more competitive, they don’t have the chops to defeat an elite team away from home. However, they might upset the Spread here and keep it closer than 10 points.

Expect CJ McCollum to blow up for more than 25 points. Jayson Tatum can have a 30+ points night.

Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
