Borussia Dortmund have officially revealed their 28-man squad for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. The German giants will be aiming to make a deep run in the newly expanded tournament. Set to compete in Group F, Dortmund will square off against Fluminense, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Ulsan Hyundai in what promises to be a competitive group stage.

The squad blends youthful energy with seasoned experience, but there are notable absences as well. In a huge blow, Dortmund captain Emre Can and midfielder Salih Ozcan have both been ruled out due to injury, leaving a void in the midfield that head coach Niko Kovac will need to address.

With training underway and travel plans all set for the U.S., Dortmund will look to build on their promising domestic campaign by asserting their presence on the international stage. Key Players to Watch

Serhou Guirassy

In his debut season with BVB, Serhou Guirassy wasted no time making an impact. The Guinean striker scored 34 goals across all competitions, averaging a strike every 112 minutes. His 21 Bundesliga goals placed him second only to Harry Kane, and he finished the domestic season in scorching form.

On the European front, Guirassy’s brilliance was instrumental in Dortmund’s run to the quarterfinals. He netted 13 goals in the UEFA Champions League, claiming the Golden Boot and becoming only the third African player in history to lead the competition scoring charts. His standout moment was a stunning hat-trick against Barcelona in the quarter-finals.

Karim Adeyemi

At just 23, Karim Adeyemi is already showing flashes of world-class potential. The pacey winger is coming off a strong season with 12 goals and 7 assists, contributing in Bundesliga, Champions League, and domestic cup matches. His 5 goals in 10 Champions League appearances were vital as he showcased his ability to perform on the biggest stages. Adeyemi’s versatility on either flank and improved end product make him a key attacking outlet for Dortmund heading into the Club World Cup.

New Players Joined

Dortmund’s 2025 Club World Cup squad includes one notable new face. Most prominent among them is the arrival of Jobe Bellingham, younger brother of former Dortmund star Jude Bellingham. Signed from Sunderland earlier this week, the 18-year-old attacking midfielder brings creativity and composure, and will be watched closely by fans.

Also included is Carney Chukwuemeka, currently on loan from Chelsea. Though his loan expires at the end of June, Dortmund have opted to keep him in the squad for the tournament. Despite intense transfer speculation, Jamie Gittens has also made the cut in Dortmund’ssquad.
