When it comes to men’s singles, British southpaw Jack Draper is the defending champion at Indian Wells 2026. The 24-year-old thrashed Holger Rune 6-2 6-2 to lift the trophy above his shoulders in 2025. Meanwhile, Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic beat Sebastian Korda and Jordan Thompson in straight sets to win the men’s doubles crown.

ATP Indian Wells 2026: Men’s Singles Draw Analysis

Top seed Carlos Alcaraz has a tricky path to the final, with former World No. 3 Grigor Dimitrov likely to be his opponent in the Round of 64. The seven-time Grand Slam champion could face Casper Ruud in the Round of 16, Alex de Minaur in the quarterfinals and Novak Djokovic in the semifinals. Provided he comes through unscathed, long-time rival Jannik Sinner could await him in the summit clash.

No. 2 seed Jannik Sinner is aiming to return to winning ways at Indian Wells this fortnight. The 24-year-old will probably open his account against James Duckworth, before facing his first real challenge in the Round of 32 vs Stefanos Tsitsipas or Denis Shapovalov. As the tournament progresses, the Italian powerhouse will need to overhaul Ben Shelton and Alexander Zverev to reach the final. Either two-time champion Alcaraz or five-time winner Djokovic could be his opponent.

Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev come in as the outer favorites to triumph in Tennis Paradise. The 24-time Grand Slam champion potentially has Hubert Hurkacz, Jack Draper, Taylor Fritz and Carlos Alcaraz as his obstacles before the final. Meanwhile, the German mainstay might run into Matteo Berrettini in his opener. The other contenders in his quarter include Lorenzo Musetti, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andrey Rublev.

Best Men’s Singles Round-1 Matches:

  • Grigor Dimitrov vs. Terence Atmane
  • Matteo Berrettini vs. Adrian Mannarino
  • Joao Fonseca vs. Raphael Collignon

ATP Indian Wells 2026 – Who is the Current Favorite to Win the Title?

As a two-time former winner and someone who is yet to lose a match in 2026, World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz is an outright favorite to emerge victorious in the Californian desert. The 22-year-old is on a 12-match winning streak with a success rate of 91% on his service games. He also comes in with 41% return points won and break points converted on hard courts throughout his career.

Right behind the Spaniard is the reigning Wimbledon champ Jannik Sinner. When someone begins the season at 7-2 and it is still considered an average start, you know their mastery. Sinner is arguably the most consistent hard court player over the past two years, winning 87% service games and saving 70% break points on this surface during the course of his professional career.

Best Longshot – Novak Djokovic at +1600: Why Does He Have an Outside Chance?

World No. 3 Novak Djokovic has won the trophy at Indian Wells on five previous occasions. Although age may not favor the 38-year-old, he is arguably the most adaptable player on tour when it comes to court conditions. The Serbian icon will bring his slices and wide angles into play to ensure a deep run at the desert this fortnight. Moreover, Djokovic has 40 Masters-1000 championships and over 400 wins in this format. This is why he is the best longshot with returns of +1600 on the market.

Players to Avoid in the Betting Market for ATP Indian Wells 2026: Alexander Zverev at +3300

Alexander Zverev is an avoidable bet when it comes to the outright odds at the BNP Paribas Open 2026. The German has complained about disliking slower courts in the past, making his discomfort evident. Despite being a Top-5 player, Zverev has struggled with grabbing the bull by the horns and going for the killer blow. In a tournament where taking the initiative is imperative, the 28-year-old could find himself melting under the heat.

Apart from Sascha, the likes of Felix Auger-Aliassime and Lorenzo Musetti are also poor choices. While the Canadian enjoys faster courts and indoor arenas where the external conditions play a minimal role, his Italian colleague is yet to expand his hard court game. Moreover, Musetti is returning from an injury layoff.
