RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is being hunted by some top clubs of the football. With the Premier League sides like Newcastle and Manchester United showing interest, the Slovenian is reported for an exit from Bundesliga.

Being marked around €70 million on the market, Sesko is being chased as a replacement by Rubem Amorim. Arsenal also showed interest but shifted focus to other targets (Viktor Gyokeres). Moreover, after losing out on Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool, Newcastle United have entered the race as per the latest reports.

Sesko Could Prefer Newcastle Over Manchester United

Eddie Howe who is firm on building a dual striker system has identified Sesko as a potential target. With the interest shown, the 22-year-old could prefer the Magpies in a snub for Manchester United. Amorim who is keen to replace his centre-forward could miss out on the Bundesliga striker.

With reports from the Daily Telegraph suggesting Sesko’s preference towards Newcastle, Amorim might have to set eyes somewhere. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano in his latest report has mentioned that Sesko will not appear RB Leipzig’s against Atlanta.

“Benjamin Šeško will make his final decision soon. Newcastle informed Leipzig last week: they’re set to match their request, same for player terms. Man United still there, in contact with Leipzig as well, set to bid if Šeško chooses them.”

Sesko began playing at his hometown club, NK Radeče, as a young child, showing early promise. Joining Leipzig from RB Salzbug in 2023, he played 33 Bundesliga matches, scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists in the Bundesliga 2024/25 season.

With Alexander Isak’s future at St. James’ Park hanging, Howe will be keen to secure a striker before the coming campaign. Sesko having proved his worth at the highest level, will be a tough cookie to bag given the chase. Amorim and the Red Devils having separate ideas about their front line could also put up a formidable chase.

Sesko combines height with remarkable speed and physicality, making him a formidable aerial threat and a powerful runner. Often likened to Erling Haaland due to his height, speed, and goal-scoring prowess, though Sesko’s versatility allows him to contribute beyond a traditional striker role in any team he joins.
