Nerazzurri Supporters Set To Pack Allianz Arena As Inter Milan Prepare for Heavyweight Battle Against Bayern Munich.

Inter Milan will be backed by a massive number of travelling fans as they face Bayern Munich in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, nearly 4000 Nerazzurri supporters have made the journey to Munich.

Around 3,400 fans will be in the designated away section. Then another 600 will be scattered around the Allianz Arena. The Italian giants will be counting on that vocal support in what is expected to be a very tightly-contested affair.

Historically, Inter have also found this stage of the competition difficult in history. They’ve been eliminated in four of their seven previous appearances at this point of the competition. Hence, they will highly rely on the support of the large travelling fans at the stadium.

A Historic Clash and High Stakes

This marks the first Champions League knockout meeting between Inter and Bayern since the 2009-10 final. Inter famously won that one under Jose Mourinho. However, in their recent meetings, Bayern defeated Inter twice in the 2022-23 group stage, which will linger on both sides.

Bayern are entering the tie in formidable European form, with a 22-game unbeaten streak in the Champions League games at home. Under Vincent Kompany, they eased past Bayer Leverkusen 5-0 on aggregate in the Round of 16. Bayern also have the chance to grab a domestic double within reach.

Inter, meanwhile, overcame Feyenoord with a 4-1 aggregate win in the last round. Simone Inzaghi’s men have only conceded only twice in 10 Champions League matches this season. However, they stumbled to a 2-2 draw with Parma in Serie A last weekend.

Thus, continuing a patchy run of away form. However, this time, they have European glory on the line. Hence, Inter’s travelling army will be hoping their presence can push the Nerazzurri one step closer to a long-awaited Champions League crown.
