The first Der Klassiker of the new Bundesliga season arrives this weekend. Bayern Munich are set to host Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena in a clash that could shape the early title race. The reigning champions have enjoyed a flawless start to the campaign.
They’ve won all ten of their matches across all competitions. This has been their best opening to a season since joining the Bundesliga in 1965. Vincent Kompany’s side has been ruthless in front of goal. They’ve netted at least three times in seven of their last eight league outings. It has set a new record with 25 goals in the first six rounds.

Dortmund, however, are no pushovers. Under Niko Kovac, they have shown defensive steel. They’ve conceded only four league goals while keeping four clean sheets in six games. Despite the setbacks, top scorer Harry Kane, already with 11 league goals, is expected to lead the attack.
Dortmund continue to manage without captain Emre Can. He is recovering from a groin injury. Young winger Julien Duranville is ruled out with a shoulder problem. Meanwhile defender Aaron Anselmino misses out due to a muscle issue. Otherwise, Niko Kovac has a strong squad available for the Klassiker.
