The Ningbo Open 2025 is a WTA 500 title and so holds an important value for the WTA Finals Riyadh, slated to begin on November 1 and conclude by November 8. The Ningbo Open is now the final and fiercest stop in the season-long race to the Riyadh Finals. With the finals scheduled for October 19, the tournament’s outcome will decide the last two spots for the elite year-end event. Six players, Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova, Madison Keys, and Jessica Pegula, have already qualified, leaving the door open for Mirra Andreeva, Jasmine Paolini, and Elena Rybakina to battle for the remaining berths.

Draw Analysis: Race to Riyadh Adds Pressure to the Ningbo Stakes

At the top of the draw, No. 1 seed Andreeva, last year’s finalist, continues to showcase consistency and composure. She remains in a projected path that could lead to a potential clash with Rybakina should both maintain their form. Meanwhile, Paolini anchors the bottom half and could edge into the semifinals if Rybakina slips. Given the points scenario, if Andreeva reaches the final, her qualification for Riyadh would be nearly sealed. For Paolini and Rybakina, every round now carries mathematical weight; the deeper the run, the stronger their claim.
