Barcelona Sign Wonderkid Roony Bardghji From FC Copenhagen

Roony took part in his first training session on Monday under Hansi Flick ahead of the club’s pre-season preparations.

Barcelona have officially completed the signing of highly-rated young winger Roony Bardghji from FC Copenhagen. The La Liga champions confirmed the signing on Monday. The 19-year-old reportedly joins the Catalan giants for an initial fee of around €2.5 million ($3 million). Bardghji has put pen to paper on a contract running until 2029.

Copenhagen have also secured performance-related add-ons and a sell-on clause in the deal, which entitles them to a percentage of any future transfer fee. The Swedish talent flew into Barcelona over the weekend and has already linked up with his new teammates.

Roony took part in his first training session on Monday under Hansi Flick ahead of the club’s pre-season preparations. Flick reportedly sees Bardghji as part of his plans for the upcoming campaign. Bardghji’s contract with Copenhagen was set to expire in December, which allowed Barcelona to negotiate a lower transfer fee.

Who Is Roony Bardghji?

Born on 15 November 2005 in Kuwait, Roony Bardghji holds Swedish nationality and is one of European football’s most promising young talents. The 19-year-old right winger has built a reputation for his speed, dribbling skills, and goalscoring instinct.

Bardghji began his footballing journey with Malmo FF before moving to FC Copenhagen’s youth academy in 2020. His rapid progress saw him break into the first team in 2022, where he went on to make 84 appearances, scoring 15 goals and providing one assist. Despite suffering a serious injury that sidelined him for nearly a year, Bardghji has returned strongly.

On the pitch, Bardghji excels in one-on-one situations and his direct style and eye for goal make him a potent threat on the right wing.
