John Harbaugh's 18-year stint with the Ravens comes to an end!
An 18-year-long journey finally came to an end in Baltimore as the Ravens sacked their long-time head coach, John Harbaugh, on Tuesday, bringing down the curtain on an eventful era in franchise history.
The 63-year-old Ohio native took charge as the head coach of the Ravens in 2008, in what was his first job at the position, and achieved a 180-113 record in the regular season whilst also delivering a Super Bowl in just his fifth year in charge.
However, despite making 6 postseason appearances over the last 8 seasons, the Ravens decided to part ways with Harbaugh after missing the playoffs this year. The main reason cited was that he had lost the locker room in Baltimore. So, as the Ravens look to the future, we take a look at some of the top candidates who could replace Harbaugh in Baltimore.

Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is currently in high demand, being linked to various head coach job vacancies. Kubiak, at 38 years old, is one of the younger candidates, and if the Ravens are looking at long-term stability, he could just be the answer.
Kubiak is currently in his third job as an OC, and this season with the Seahawks has been his most impressive one. The Seahawks claimed the number one seed in the NFC with a 14-3 record and have a top ten total offense, coming in at number 7 in the league this season.
Jesse Minter is the current defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers. He has held that position since 2024 and has been working under head coach Jim Harbaugh since 2022, who is, incidentally, the younger brother of John Harbaugh. If the Ravens are looking for a younger mentality with a similar style, Minter may be that candidate.
Under Minter this season, the Chargers are a top ten scoring defense unit and a top five defense when it comes to passing yards per game.
The Minnesota Vikings’ defensive coordinator Brian Flores is yet another top candidate for the vacant Ravens’ head coaching job. Flores has held his current position with the Vikings since 2023 and has done a commendable job in Minnesota.
This year, the Vikings rank second in pass defense yards per game, third in total yards allowed per game, and have allowed just a tad over 19 points per game under Flores.
The Washington Commanders and their offensive coordinator, Kliff Kingsbury, decided to mutually part ways after a two-year stint. While this season was a disaster for the Commanders as a whole, Kingsbury played a major role in shaping quarterback Jayden Daniels in his rookie season in 2024.
Kingsbury has quite the experience working with mobile quarterbacks such as Kyler Murray with the Cardinals and Daniels with the Commanders. That could be an advantage with Lamar Jackson under center in Baltimore. The former Commanders OC likes to employ the spread concept and RPO system, which could once again help benefit Jackson and the Ravens.
Joe Brady is yet another candidate linked with several job vacancies as we near the end of the 2025-26 NFL season. The Bills’ offensive coordinator since 2024 has done an exceptional job in Buffalo, especially considering their lack of weapons in the pass game.
Brady has done well to develop quarterback Josh Allen, who also won the MVP in Brady’s first season as the Bills’ OC. In the two years he has been in charge of the offense, Brady has also developed James Cook as one of the finest running backs in the league at present.
