Serie A in its final few matchdays is perfectly poised for the top six positions. With a three-point difference in them, seventh-ranked AS Roma will take on fifth-placed Juventus on Sunday. This will just be the second game in-charge of Igor Tudor as a Juventus manager.

AS Roma Injury News

In the pre-match conference, Roma manager Claudia Ranieri gave an update on the injuries of the squad. Addressing that Zeli Celik is back in training, he hinted that the fullback could make an appearance against Juventus. However, Devyne Rensch is still in recovery and was ruled out by Ranieiri for this clash. Talking on the subject, the 73-year-old said:

“We’re in good shape. Celik has recovered. Rensch has too but I don’t think he’ll make the bench. We’ll assess everything properly tomorrow. He’s had one training session with us but didn’t take part in the training match. So I don’t want to risk him. The others are all fine.”

Alexis Saelemaekers will also be sidelined due to suspension against Juventus. Following Paulo Dybala’s season-ending injury, Ranieri also spoke words of faith in the Argentine as he plans to keep him. Talking about Dybala’s position at Roma, Ranieri said:

“No, it hasn’t changed our opinions, our decisions or our desire to keep Paulo. He’s an important player for us and we’re counting on him for next season.”

Ranieri is predicted to stick to his typical 3-4-2-1 formation for AS Roma. With the stellar defence held strong by Matt Hummels, he has had significant success with his back-line performing this season.

“They came back to the team yesterday, they definitely won’t play from the start, but we’ll see.”

He has hinted that the returning players could make an appearance from the bench against AS Roma. The high-stakes game between Roma and Juventus is termed an opportunity to improve by Tudor. Speaking on his thoughts about the clash, the 46-year-old said:

“It’s an important match, but not decisive,” Tudor said. ”It’s an important game and we’ll go up against a team with a series of excellent results. We want to concentrate on ourselves and implement the things we’ve been working on.”

Tudon will rely on Dusan Vlahovic and Matias Soule to open up the Roma defence. After a marginal victory in his first game in charge against Genoa, Tudon might stick to the same 3-4-2-1 shape.
