Aryna Sabalenka vs. Iga Swiatek Preview

Aryna Sabalenka is on high confidence in pursuit of maiden Roland Garros, and she faces the biggest hurdle of the tournament in the semifinals. The Belarusian ace didn’t get panic in the quarterfinal battle with Zheng and won another game in straight sets. Throughout the tournament, the world No. 1 didn’t drop a single set. It will be her 11th Slam semifinals and gone 5-5 through 10 attempts. She is currently on a four-match winning streak in the Grand Slam SFs. Sabalenka has posted a 13-2 record in the semifinals since 2024 and won all six semifinal clashes this year without losing a set. The Belarusian ace has gone 16-2 on clay court and will enter her second Roland Garros semifinals.

Iga Swiatek is a clay-court queen and she is just two wins away to win the Roland Garros for the fourth straight yer. However, she has to overcome the world No. 1 to reach the finals. The Polish ace is on a 26-match winning streak in the French Open and didn’t drop semifinals on the Persian clay. The former No. 1 reached 100 clay wins in just 114 matches which is the fourth-fastest in the Open Era.

Swiatek was tested during her semifinal run, but she came out as a champion player. Her fourth-round victory over Rybakina was something special. Iga was trailing 2-0 in the second set after dropping the first set 6-1, but she pulled off a comeback to snatch a crucial win. Despite a dominant record in the French Open, Swiatek’s current form in the semifinals is poor, losing the previous six matches. She has a 1-2 record against the world No. 1s and the only victory came against Sabalenka in the 2023 WTA Finals.

Aryna Sabalenka vs. Iga Swiatek French Open 2025 Prediction

It’s going to be a toughest game of the season for Aryna Sabalenka. Breaking the fortress of Swiatek on Persian clay isn’t easy. However, the ongoing form will be a concern for the Polish ace as she is on a 6-match losing streak in semifinals and hasn’t won a title since June 2024. Sabalenka would likely have the edge on any other surface, but Swiatek owns clay court. It’s like competing Nadal in the Roland Garros. The match should go in the final set, and it would be a blockbuster clash of the season.

Prediction: Iga Swiatek to win in three sets.
