Anthony Elanga has been involved in 28 goals since joining Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest hosted Manchester United in the round 30 of the Premier League on Tuesday. In what was yet another away defeat for the Red Devils, their former player Anthony Elanga scored the only goal of the match. From what was a brilliant counter-attacking run from the youngster, Elanga scored in the first 5 minutes of the game.
The Swedish International has now scored six goals in the Premier League this season. Nottingham Forest secured their 17th win of the season as they are placed third on the table. Elanga has played a significant role in Forest’s recent success providing the highest assists (8) and second-highest goal scorer (6).
Starting his run from the Forest box, Elanga impressively dribbled past the United defence. Guiding it past Andre Onana, the 22-year-old secured what turned out to be the match-winner for Nottingham Forest. This marked Elanga’s fourth goal in all competitions since March.

Reflecting on his goal, Elanga believed to be improving with time. Talking about his speed, the winger told TNT Sports:
“I believe I’m one of the fastest players in the league, and to back that I had to show it on the pitch and that’s what I did.”
When asked about his move to Nottingham from Manchester United, Elanga insisted on wanting to improve. Being thankful for Manchester United, he added:
“Coming to Forest was about playing, I’m not the finished product. I learnt a lot at Man United”.
“I appreciate them a lot. I am enjoying my football and want to keep going”,
Elanga who joined Manchester United in 2022 failed to leave an impression at Old Trafford. However, since he departed from Manchester, Elanga has been involved in 28 goal contributions. Only Bruno Fernandes (38) from Manchester United has contributed more since.

Manchester United faced their 13th loss of the season as they could slide down the table at the end of the round 30. Ruben Amorim and his side have managed only four away wins this year’s Premier League campaign. With their on-loan players shining elsewhere, the Portuguese manager finds himself sinking towards the end of the season.
Nottingham Forest have been on a dream run in all competitions since the start of the 2024/25 campaign. After securing their place at the FA Cup semifinals the hard way, they have now increased their lead by eight points against fourth-placed Chelsea. From battling relegation in the previous season to currently being so close to Champions League qualification, Nuno Espírito Santos and his side have turned quite the tides.
